The Abandoned SOUL

ABANDONMENT
Lately, I've been thinking about "abandonment," but not the typical kind of abandonment we usually think of as in being abandoned by parents or a spouse. Although, there are still similarities. We can easily feel:
Abandoned by a spouse who leaves you lonely in a loveless marriage...
Abandoned by a boss who does not acknowledge your hard work...
Abandoned by a child who rejects your efforts to train and love them...
Abandoned by a friend who no longer is a healthy relationship...
Abandoned by a body plagued by disease that robs you of your life...
And then there's the things we abandon - often even because of the list above:
Dreams
Hope
Goals
Purpose
Psalm 13:12
"Hope deferred makes the heart sick:
but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life."
When we feel abandoned, we can abandon all hope of anything different.
And yet, this is still not the kind of abandonment that I've been thinking about.
I've been thinking about the kind of abandonment that can solve, change or answer all those things that might make us feel abandoned, or cause us to abandon hope...
Abandon Yourself...
ABANDON old thinking.
ABANDON old beliefs.
ABANDON yourself.
In my last message I mentioned I'd been seeking God for what He really wants me to do for the Kingdom.
He wants me to teach His people how to have healthy and prosperous souls.
"Beloved, I wish above all else that you might prosper,
and be in health, even as your soul prospers."
- 3 John 1:2
I imagine a soul... free from limitations, hindrances, barriers, obstacles, doubt or fear. It's a soul that is completely surrendered - a soul that is absolutely abandoned to the truth of God; the will of God; the Glory of God and the Word of God!
