SETTING YOUR SOUL GOALS!
3 John 1:2
"Beloved, I wish above all things that you might prosper
and be in health, even as your soul propsers."
God's Goals for You Depend on the Condition of Your SOUL!
What are the prayers of 2024 that you have carried into 2025? Are they prayers for your healing? For a relationship? For a new job; a better job; a promotion on your job or just more money? Are you praying for purpose; for happiness, for strength, or for dealing with stress, grief, loss or tragedy?
To "prosper" means to "do well in life; to succeed in reaching; to do well in business." That's the kind of prosperity 3 John 1:2 promises us - but achieving it depends on the healthy, prosperous and successful condition of your soul!
PICK YOUR GOALS:
Get specific. Pick out those things you have been praying for and designate them as your Soul Goals for 2025. Write them in a journal and leave one page per Goal.
These are the areas of your life where your soul will make a change!
Pay Attention to Your Soul
"Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. "
- 1 Peter 4:19
In all the things we've suffered (even since just January 2025), the "keeping" of our souls is key to our well doing; well being; success and wellness.
So, how do you "keep" your soul - especially in regard to the "soul goals" you've set? Well, you keep your soul by aligning it with the Word of God, established by our faithful Creator and Heavenly Father.
And since our souls are comprised of our THOUGHTS, our WILL and our EMOTIONS; what we think, what we want and what we feel must be KEPT in line with the truth and wisdom of the Word of God for every situation.
Here's an example: one of my soul goals is to get rid of the floaters in my eye. I have to be careful about what I think, want and feel regarding my eye. I have to pay attention and not claim the floaters by saying things like "MY floaters have returned." I have to be careful not to let any feelings of discouragement or irritation distract me from wanting to get healed or seeking that healing. And finally, I have to keep my thoughts, desires and feelings regarding my eye focused on Luke 11:34 and Isaiah 58:8 (Look them up - it's fascinating!)
For now, just pick your goals and, in that journal - begin to keep a record of what you think, feel and want regarding each one of your goals. As we go, we'll learn more ways to prosper our souls in regards to each one of our goals.
